Rise of humanity: saga of steel rp

As the elven armies march against the races of men and are met with the first signs of resistance from the kingdoms of the humans eastern frontier. The frontiersmen are a hardy bunch, practiced at fending off goblin raiders and savage beasts. The human king Bjorn the just has suplimented the standard footsoldiers and knights of his own army with many local conscripts and volunteers. The armies meet full force at  shatter sword hold, humanity's eatern most fortress. Bjorns army mounts a fearsome defense but despite their advantages in fortifications and terian they are overwhelmed by the vast and disciplined hordes of elves and their army is broken in a matter of hours, and the king is killed on the field. Remnants of Bjorn's army flee west. Some flee to hide, some to regroup in the armies of the western kings, a few hope to mount a last defense in the kings former capitol, but all know the eastern frontier is doomed. As they flee one small group of remnants is engaged by a larger elven squad sent to hunt down the soldiers trying to escape


"Push through men do not let the pointy eared bastards take you alive!" Ysold barks orders to the disarrayed soldiers following her as she parries the thrust of an elven spearman and burries her axe in his neck. The elven party is a dozen strong compared to the handful of soldiers  with her. Ysold turns her attention to the enemy leader as two of her men collapse from being hit by bolts of magic she sees the enemy is led by a staff wielding sorcerer. She ducks the swing of an enemy foot soldiers blade and decapitates him with a flick her sword. She charges the sorcerer dahing to the left with blinding speed as the sorcerer sends a flury of magic bolts at her, then to the right as he casts another. As she closes in on the sorcerer he attempts to blast her with two more magic bolts, batting them both aside with her blade, Ysold brings down her sword upon his staff, cleaving it in two with a mighty blow delivered with startling velocity, then rams her sword through his chest.

The knight Arden has engaged a pair of elven spearmen in combat normally a quick Victory for him had his sheild not been broken by an elven hammer during the previous battle. Put on the defensive he is forced back parrying and dodging a relentless flurry of blows until he is able to deflect the spear of the elf on his right into the way of the elf on his left with his broadsword. Serving only to momentarily break their assault, fortunately a moment is all he needed. Stepping to the right of the off balence elf on his right he quickly lops off one of the elf's legs then steps passed him through the other elf's guard and thrusts his blade into the elves chest

Bann stands tall above the elves as he stands at his lords flank his massive sword stained red from hours of battle. An elf tries to rush Arden seeing Bann engage one of his kin, only to take a flying axe in the head, Bann barely breaking pace in his duel to throw the axe

Arden pulls his bloody blade free of the dead elf just in time to block a curved elven sword speeding toward his head. Locking the blade with his cross guard he kicks the elf in the chest knocking him to the already blood soaked forest floor and thrusting his blade into the elven soldier's gut to finish him off

An elf with a great sword runs at ysold from behind trying to cleave her in half with a powerful chop, that she easily side steps sticking her sword through his throat as the rest of the hunting party flee realizing they are out matched

[Farmboy]

Bann grimaces and shakes the blood from Hus sword as he approaches Arden, flicking his eyes after the fleeing elves as he does so
"You alright m'lord?"

[Admin]

Arden shakes his head as he wrenches his sword free of the dying elves gut and mercifully ends his life with a quick decapitation instead of leaving him to bleed out. While he was unharmed was not ok in the slightest, he was humiliated at the defeat they had suffered and his decision to retreat, he was furious after the death of his king, shot through the neck by a hidden archer "what coward would dare..." He started to ask in a voice trembling with shock and anger

"Quiet both of you"Ysold firmly orders as she sheathes her blade, despite her rage being perhaps greater than Arden's she is much calmer and very collected "now is the time for running not talking if you want to live long enough to finish that conversation we need to move out before more of their soldiers catch up to us" and with that she headed westward through the forest not waiting for a reaction

[Farmboy]

Bann looks at his friend and lord, concern plain on his face, he drops the formality
"Come on Ar"

Talvar stalks through the forest, tracking an elven scout, one hunting fleeing soldiers, not that he cares, he just wants all elves dead. Tal kneels by the tracks, the elf is close, he hears someone moving in the brush behind him, to loud to be an elf. So he ignores it

[Admin]

Arden takes one last pained look at the battlefield behind him, so many people dead for nothing... No not for nothing these elves will be stopped no matter the cost. Regretfully he heads into the woods after the captain. "Hell of a first war wasn't it?" He jokes bitterly

[Mayhjeen]

Mac is hides in the leafy canopies of a nearby Olsen tree ,his green elven short coat and clothing allowing him to blend in almost perfectly , dammit that arrow hadn't killed that knight!!

[Farmboy]

Talvar follows the tracks, circling back to an (Olsen?) Tree. He glances up into the branches and spots the figure crouched among them. He smiles inwardly
'Got you'
He draws Hus bow and slowly knocks an arrow, drawing it back so the fletching touches his mouth then releasing, missing and hitting next to the elves head as a grouse flies up from near his feet and startles him. Tal curses and goes for another area

Bann shakes his head at Arden's words
"Aye"
He perks up and his hand goes to the spear across Hus back as the sound of an arrow hitting wood echoes through the forest
"What was that?"

[Admin]

"Doesn't matter" ysold says plainly "we need to focus on distancing ourselves from the elven army"

[Farmboy]

Bann frowns but nods and loosens his grip on his spear

[Admin]

"We need to get to the capitol , and evacuate the royal family" ysold says after some mental deliberation without breaking her brisk pace

Arden nods in agreement perking up  "aye we quit the field when there was no other option but we must endeavor to help them, and I'm not just saying that because he had an attractive daughter...."

[Farmboy]

Bann snorts
"Yes you are. You want a chance to win her over after she rejected you last spring"

[Mayhjeen]

Mavis growls out a string of curses and takes the chance to leap down with his hunting dagger ,before abruptly sprinting away like a bitch.

[Admin]

Arden nods grinning a bit he regains some of his normal self "you aren't wrong about that , but I said not just, I liked the king he was a fair and just person, who made my father a noble I figure I owe him this much"

[Farmboy]

Tal roars insults after the fleeing elf, loosing Twp more arrows after him as he does so

Bann spins, spear fully in hand as he hears a bellow from behind them
"Captain? Should we be worried?"

[Admin]

Ysolda looks to her left  to see the fleeing elf who had been shooting at them earlier. She tackles him and puts a blade to his throat, "scream, you die, make a wrong move you die, mildly piss me off, you die. Got it?"

[Farmboy]

Tal comes bursting out of the trees after the elf, face in a black rage, his now is slung over his shoulder now and he holds his sword in one hand and a vicious looking knife in the other. His eyes to snap to the elf
"There ye are!"

Bann steps between Ysold and the huntsman, despite knowing she can handle herself, mostly out of a desire to keep her from facing to foes at once

[Admin]

Arden slugs the new comer in the back of the head in an attempt to incapacitate him

[Farmboy]

Talk takes the hit and uses the force to help roll away, losing his sword in the process but coming up with another knife in hand and a snarl on his face

[Admin]

Arden responds by drawing his sword ready to stick it in him in a moments notice "if this elf talks any information he could give would be vital to the war effort and I won't let you jeprodize that"

[Farmboy]

Tal snarls, the rage in his voice laced with obvious and terrible sorrow
"Bastards killed them! My Hana! My boys! I'll gut them all!"
He darts towards Ysold and the elf, intent on killing him and skating easily past Bann

[Admin]

(So, you know he's charging to his death right? Ysolda is not the sort to hesitate, are you sure you want to do that?"

[Farmboy]

Bann tackles Tal and holds him down as he squurms and rages

[Mayhjeen]

Mavis just laughs "Oh I don't know anything aboot anyone ,I'm just a volunteer eleven foot soldier I am"He says cheerfully.
